Jan Barned is the Director of Financial Management Trainer. After working in corporate finance in senior executive roles for over 25 years, Jan recognised the need for improved financial and business management training for small and medium businesses and not-for-profit organisations. 

Financial Management Trainer was born because Jan wanted to share all the management and financial strategies that the “big boys” use that make large organisations so successful.

As a leading expert in business and financial management Jan and her team train businesses in easy to understand methods that ensure every participant will see improvements in their business from the outset.

The mission of Financial Management Trainer is to empower business owners, managers and community based personnel to understand and manage both the financial and business management aspects of their business.

Financial Literacy is an important and often overlooked aspect to managing a business.  No matter what field you in, having a strong financial foundation allows you to worry less about the finances in your business and focus on what it is you do best.  That's what Financial Management Trainer aspires to for our clients.

From assisting in business planning, implementation of the plan to start up, teaching financial literacy in business to improving business performance, and supporting our community organisations with financial management, governance and sustainability, I am passionate about helping every business and organisation be the best they can be.

As a leading expert in financial and business management with over 20 years expertise, I have developed and facilitated seminars and workshops, authored 100's of publications and other resources on these topics.

In 2014 I was awarded the Fire Awareness Award for my publication “Disaster Recovery Toolkit”  (I am now excited to be called an “Award Winning Author!)
